My family and I were so privileged to have known a very precious Bahá’í pioneer to Palawan in the late 70’s to the early 80s, Ms. Doris Hofman.
She was the “Auntie Doris” of all the Bahá’ís of Palawan at that time. Friends from all over Northern Luzon recently held a Regional Conference last April 8-10, 2011 in order to derive in-depth understanding of the recent Dec. 28, 2011 Message from the Universal House of Justice. Attending were 173 adults and youths coming from several provinces and towns.
To describe concisely the impression of participants at the conclusion of the conference, as one young participant commented in Facebook, “we are super inspired!”.

To understand better the Dec. 28, 2011 Message from the Universal House of Justice, last April 2-3, 2011, a total of 147 friends, including 23 junior youths and 8 children, attended the Mindanao Institutional Conference. Out of the 116 youth and adults who attended, 64 responded to the call to serve as pioneers and mobile tutors in nearby towns and cities of Mindanao.

Last Mar. 13-15, 2011 in Bataraza, Palawan, approximately 30 volunteers involved with community-building thru spiritual and social transformation gathered to study the Dec. 28, 2010 Message from the Universal House of Justice. Far-flung, this island province might be, however, they have initiated sustained programmes for Children’s Classes, Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Programmes, Study Circles, Devotional Gatherings in their own villages.
